Louisville’s own Highland Fish Market

We visited Louisville's Highland Fish Market last week for the first time and were impressed! They are a family owned and operated store since 1995! Living in KY, it's hard to find fresh, high-quality seafood, but they had a lot to offer.

The customer service was great and friendly, which is something they pride themselves on, and I definitely see why. They answered all the questions we had and were so easy to talk to. I find it fun to geek out over culinary techniques and flavors.

Their produce ranges from dips and seasonings to shellfish and fresh fillets. I'm specifically excited to go back for their flavored Ariston olive oils. I have to get my hands on the lemon-flavored one!

We found out they also serve fresh smoked salmon Wednesday through Saturday, straight off the Traeger, and boy, was it delicious! The rub they use is sold in-store and incorporates just a handful of spices - one being brown sugar (excuse me as I wipe the drool off my chin).

We came home with trout, yellowfin ahi tuna, and their smoked salmon. Next time, I'm coming for shrimp, scallops, and a bottle or two of the olive oil.
